Summer Newborn {Sawyer}

This little guy’s mama and I used to work together in a former, pre-children life.  I was thrilled when she contacted me a few months ago about a newborn session, because not only did I get to reconnect with her, but I got to meet her beautiful family!  And let me just say, her two little guys are precious, sweet brothers.  I love brand-new Sawyer’s head of dark hair.  He was bright-eyed for my entire visit and loved cuddling with his mama and chilling outside in the warm, summer air.

I’m not responsible for any baby fever this post may cause.  Consider yourself warned!

Late Spring Wildflowers {My Girls}

I seem to be developing quite an obsession with wildflowers.  Our part of the country doesn’t disappoint.  Each season brings a different display, a new canvas to play with.  The husband has even noticed and has started cultivating a corner of the yard for me…where one day I can “take people’s pictures in the backyard”.  It’s got a long way to go, but a girl can dream.

These required crawling under a gate (tossing camera, chair, babies over) but it was well worth the prize.

Spring Gathering {The Starrs}

I was so thrilled when a good high school friend of mine asked me to take some pictures of her extended family this spring.  This whole family is near and dear to me, as we go way back, and we all overlapped at Auburn together.  It has been so neat to watch this sweet family grow…let’s see, seven beautiful grandkids and counting!

A Lake Wedding {Jen + Tommy}

I had such a wonderful day shooting this wedding with Hillary Gamble last month.  It’s a bit of a challenge to capture the essence of a wedding using words, I much prefer my lens.  But this wedding was simply beautiful.  Jen and Tommy chose the lovely Children’s Harbor at Lake Martin for their ceremony followed by a charmingly southern reception just down the road at The Stables at Russell’s Crossroad.  It was clear that the bride and groom did a wonderful job creating a wedding day that truly reflects who they are.

The bride and groom opted not to see each other before the ceremony.  We were able to capture their portraits on the way to the Stables.  Wooded trail and horse drawn carriage.  Perfect.

My favorite series of the day.

An Engagement {Leslie + Greg}

Leslie contacted me a while back about her engagement session, and I was thrilled to finally meet these two this past weekend.  We weren’t sure if the weather was going to cooperate, but we met anyway and had a great (although a little chilly!) session.  These two lovebirds met at work and definitely wanted to incorporate their building and the surrounding courtyard into their session.  I love it when my couples bring their own story into our shoot.  I’m not interested in simply taking pretty pictures, but telling good stories as well!

 I love how Greg proposed.  He sat outside on the porch and told Leslie not to peak.  He was making a surprise for her.  Little did she know it was a BIG surprise…this sweet plaque with a cut-out just the perfect size for a ring!

These two are so giddy-in-love and obviously crazy over each other!

Congrats on your upcoming big day, guys!!
